There are a number of hotels within a short distance from Stanford. The Cardinal Hotel and Hotel Keen are conveniently located in Palo Alto. In Menlo Park, the Best Western Plus Reviera, Hotel Lucent, and the Menlo Park Inn are not too far away. There are a number of Airbnb options that are cheaper, but not necessarily close by. If you are renting a car, this could be a good option.
For local transportation, Uber is an option. The Stanford Marguerite shuttle is an option around campus and to the Palo Alto transit center adjacent to downtown Palo Alto. There are also a number of bike shops that rent bikes in Menlo Park, Palo Alto, and on the Stanford Campus.
